on:In my definition, Chaayaageet song is one which is sung in the period between 10 PM to midnight. :D. That way, a song talking about a period after midnight is not a chaagyaageet song. May be I should call such a song as “post Chaayaageet period” song.

on:In Indian history/mythology/ folk tales, we have been handed down a few love stories, viz “Shirin Farhad”, “Sohni-Mahiwaal”,”Laila-Majnu” etc. All these love stories have one thing in common. And it is the tragic nature of these stories. And that is to be expected seeing that the ground reality in Indian culture does not allow people of opposite genders to openly interacts and fall in love with each other.

May 5th 1978 was a most awaited day for an Amitabh Bachchan fan. That day his latest movie Trishul got released. Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Adalat and Khoon Pasina had been released in the preceding years and had proved to be super-duper hits. Amitabh Bachchan’s distinctive “positioning” as the “angry young man” in the rather cluttered world of Bollywood heroes was firmly established. That the above-mentioned movies were interspersed with blockbusters like Kabhi Kabhie (romantic hero) and Amar Akbar Anthony (comedian) only helped to intensify the hero’s aura among his fans.

Aaya re khilaune waalaa

on:I have not watched this movie called “Bachpan” (1970) but I recently stumbled upon this song from the movie. This song “aaya re khilaune waala” appears in the movie several times (at least four times) including at the end of the movie.
