Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020)–Song No.101

This date ten years ago (viz 19 december 2010) saw seven songs getting covered from seven movies. First song of the day was covered at 9:19 AM and the final song at 1:01 PM. So unlike other days, when all songs would get covered before 10 AM, this day I struggled to publish the songs of the day.

One can see that five out of seven movies whose songs were discussed ten years ago have since been YIPPEED.
“Dillagi”(1966) is one of the unYIPPEED movies and so it is one of the two movies eligible for blog ten year challenge today.
“Dillagi”(1966) was produced by Tony Walker and directed by S Bannerjee for Golden Films, Bombay. The movie had Mala Sinha, Sanjay Khan, Bela Bose, Johny Walker, Nazima, Vijay Kumar, Gajanan Jagirdar, Amar, Keshav, Khurshid, Hammad, Tuntun, Moolchand, Pravin Paul, Tony Walker, Bela Bose, Zeb Sultana, Shabana, Roop Kumari, Ravi Kant, Ratan Gaurang, Tulsi, Aziz, Maqsood, Manjeet, Abdul Jabbar, Suresh, N.Misra, Samarlal Damani, Ajay Kumar, Abdul Kader, Baxi, Shrfu, Edwina etc in it.
The movie had eight songs in it and four of these songs have been covered so far.
Here is the fifth song from “Dillagi”(1966) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Usha Mangeshkar. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Musc is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The fun teasing song is picturised as a party song on Mala Sinha, Sanjay Khan, Tony Walker or Vijay Kumar, Chinoo Shikari, Edwina etc.
I heard this fun song during my early childhood and I loved the lyrics, especially the words kabootar kabootar thrown in the lyrics for no apparent reasons other than to make it a fun song.

This day ten years ago (16 december 2010) was another productive day for the blog. As many as seven songs were covered that day. The first post was published at 7:54 whereas the final post of the day appeared at 9:41 AM.

One can notice that fist six movies whose songs were covered that day have been YIPPEED in the blog by now. That leaves us with just one movie, namely “Ham Kahaan Jaa Rahe Hain”(1966) as the only movie eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (16 December 2020).
“Ham Kahaan Jaa Rahe Hain”(1966) was produced by Shashdhar Mukherjee and Directed by Nitin Bose For Filmistan. The movie had Introducing Neena and Prakash (new introductions) With Abhi Bhattacharya, Badriprasad, Jagirdar, P Kailash, Rajan Haksar, Leela Misra, Murad, Bhardawaj, Jankidas, Rajkishore, Master Raja, Master Prakash, Pasha, Pardhi, Narbada Shankar, Nadira, Asrani, Birbal, Vittaldas Panchotia etc in it.
The movie had nine songs in it. Two songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the third song from “Ham Kahaan Jaa Rahe Hain”(1966) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Manna Dey, Krishna Kalle and chorus. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Basant Prakash.
HFGK mentions this as a two part song, though the picturiasation appears one single song.
The song is picturised on Prakash, Neena, Raj Kishore, Manjula(Dancer) and Shirley(dancer). Prakashchandra, who provided the lyrics if the song feels that Edwina is also there in the picturisation of the song at 2:05,3:30,5:08 of video link.
One can see that the song celebrates the year 1965. That was 55 years ago ! How time flies !

This day ten years ago (viz 15 December 2010) was a wednesday, viz middle of the week. I was based at Nagpur. After initial struggle early in the year for settling down, I began to post songs at an average of 5 songs a day from
July 2010 onwards. Then there was a temporary slowdown in November 2010. I picked up pace again in december 2010. I notice that I had covered as many as seven songs on 15 december 2010. This was one of the seven occasions in the month when I posted as many as seven articles in a day. The first post appeared at 7:13 AM and the seventh at 9:27 AM. That is the kind of productivity I was capable of ten years ago. ! 🙂

This movie was written,produced and directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. The movie had Surekha (as Asha), Madhavi (as Rosy), David (as Barrister Rameshchar), Irshad Panjathan, Prakash,Yunus Parvez,Madhukar, Hangal,Samir Kumar, Kuljit Singh, Ravikant, Bhagwan Sinha, Qamar Amrohi, Pardesi, Bhola, Jagadish Kumar, Ghanshyam Rohera, Moti Bina, Sunil Kaushik, Surendra Kaushik, Nazir Kashmiri, Chandulal, Verinder Raj Anand,and Athar Siraj. Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 97

‘Jab Se Tumhe Dekha Hai-1963’ is an eligible movie under the ‘Blog Ten Year Challenge’ today (30 november 2020) as one of its songs was posted on 30.11.2010.
Though one song of this movie was also posted on 18.11.2010, we missed the opportunity of discussing its song on that day ten years later. Our dear Prakash ji had already sent lyrics for two songs to cover these two occasions. Today gives us another opportunity of covering a song from this movie under the “Blog Ten Year Challenge” series.

Still it managed to hit a century with this ‘six’ on the last day of the month. Total score of posts of November’2010 is 105. (Things like this happen in Hindi movies or specially in ‘MKD’ movies 😊

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 96

25 November 2010, the date exactly ten years ago was a day when six songs were covered in the blog. But unlike earlier months of the year when all six or seven songs got covered before 10 AM, this day was a struggle. The first article (post number 3251) was posted at 8:39 AM. The sixth and final post of the day appeared in the evening at 7:44 PM. So it was a struggle, rather than a breeze, to publih the day’s quota of songs on this day ten years ago.

Seeing that winters have set in, this song is quite a welcome song, where the lady invites her beau into her warm heart- “dil hai garma garam.” I have heard the “dil” being likened to “sheesha”, “patthar” etc, but it is the first time that I find a lady’s heart being likened to a cup of tea or a plate of pakodas. 🙂 “Garma garam dil”. What a heartwarming thought. 🙂

I notice that only 198 articles were posted in the blog during the first four months of the year 2010. Still, by the end of end of October 2010, the blog had already added just over one thousand posts during the year 2010 ! That was because the blog had picked up pace from July to September 2010, when 481 posts were published in these three months !

Ten years back this day i.e. on 12th November 2010, five songs were posted on the blog. Here is the list;

The movies due for presentation of a song today are ‘Shri Ganesh Mahima-1950’and ‘Roopkumari-1956’.
We have already posted a song from ‘Shri Ganesh Mahima-1950’ early morning today.
I am presenting a song from ‘Roopkumari-1956’ now which is the second movie due for BTYC today.
‘Roopkumari-1956’ was directed by Manibhai Vyas for ‘Chitrabharti, Bombay’. It was produced by Chimanlal Trivedi. It had Shakila, Mahipal, Chandrashekhar, Tiwari, Maruti, Kamal, Ratnamala, Krishnakumari, Moni Chatterjee, Roopmala, Jankidas, Ramesh Thakur, Jagdish, Dubey and others.
This movie had seven songs written by B.D. Mishra and music was composed by S.N. Tripathi. Asha Bhonsle had sung four solo songs and Geeta Dutt sung have one solo song in this movie. Other than this the two remaining songs were duets – one sung by Manna Dey and Geeta Dutt, and the second duet was in the voices of Mohd Rafi and Shamshad Begam.
