In the early era of films, the line between the various language films was very thin. Films were often made taking inspiration from other language films. Many times films were made on topics related to other languages. For example, films on Sant Tukaram, Dnyaneshwar, Sant Sakhu, Gora Kumbhar and even Namdeo-the saints popular in Maharashtra-were made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
