Jawaan hai muhabbat haseen hai zamaanaa

on:I have posted two songs from “Anmol Ghadi” (1946) in this blog, but that is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the music of this movie is concerned. The world has changed a great deal from the time the music of this movie was created, but the magic of its music sounds as fresh today as it must have 64 years ago.
Here is a timeless classic from this song. “Jawaan hai muhabbat haseen hai zamaanaa” is sung by Noorjehaan and it is picturised on herself. The unforgettable lyrics were written by Tanveer Naqvi and music was composed by Naushad.
This movie has so many timeless classics that one can only be amazed at the genius of the persons involved in creating the music of this movie. Posting all the gems from this movie will keep me busy for several days.

Song-Jawaan hai muhabbat haseen hai zamaanaa (Anmol Ghadi) (1946) Singer-Noorjehaan, Lyrics- Tanveer Naqvi, MD-Naushad
Lyrics
jawaan hai muhabbat, haseen hai zamaanaa
lutaayaa hai dil ne, khushi kaa khazaanaa
jawaan hai mohabbat, haseen hai zamaanaa
lutaayaa hai dil ne, khushi kaa khazaanaa
muhabbat karen khush rahen muskuraayen
khush rahen muskuraayen
muhabbat karen khush rahen muskuraayen
khush rahen muskuraayen
na soche hamen kyaa kahegaa zamaanaa
kyaa kahegaa zamaanaa
jawaan hai mohabbat, haseen hai zamaanaa
lutaayaa hai dil ne, khushi kaa khazaanaa
abhi tak mujhe yaad hai wo kahaani
yaad hai wo kahaani
abhi tak mujhe yaad hai wo kahaani
yaad hai wo kahaani
na bhoolegaa bachpan ka rangeen zamaanaa
haan rangeen zamaanaa
jawaan hai mohabbat, haseen hai zamaanaa
lutaayaa hai dil ne, khushi kaa khazaanaa
yahaan aankhon aankhon mein baaten huyi hain
yahaan aankhon aankhon mein baaten huyi hain
kisine na dekhaa kisine na jaanaa
haan kisine na jaanaa
jawaan hai mohabbat, haseen hai zamaanaa
lutaayaa hai dil ne, khushi kaa khazaanaa
tum aaye ke bachapan meraa laut aayaa
laut aayaa
tum aaye ke bachapan meraa laut aayaa
laut aayaa
milaa hai mujhe zindagi ka bahaanaa
zindagi ka bahaanaa
jawaan hai mohabbat, haseen hai zamaanaa
lutaayaa hai dil ne, khushi kaa khazaanaa

In these beautiful times, love is young and gay
My heart overflows with abundance of happiness
Be in love and keep smiling full of gaiety
Without a worry about what the world will say
Still remember that story of love, I do
Can i forget, the days of youth and abandon
Now, our eyes have said the things that matter
No one else has to see and know these things
You have come and the days of my childhood are back
Have found a new purpose in life, I have really !
In these beautiful times, love is young and gay
My heart overflows with abundance of happiness

Truly a classic song! I love the life and the joy in this song. I hardly ever get that feeling when I listen to songs these days. It definitely feels like the golden age of music in films is over, with the passing away of the greats like Naushad, Burman dada and others.
Thanks, Atul!

This is among the topmost of musical excellence; it is an immortal song.
I mean every word of it- as long as mankind is alive the song will live.

Can’t believe this song has not been posted till now.
This is one of the all-time classic songs of Hindi cinema.
This song somehow reminds me a lot of that other classic song of that era “chale jaana nahin nain milaake”. That is another great song.
