Badi door se aaye hain

on:“Samjhauta” was a movie that has been forgotten by now. And it is unfortunate that its songs have been forgotten too. The movie has not one but two great songs, one sung by Rafi, and another by Kishore Kumar, and unfortuntely both songs are difficult to come by, be it their video or just audio. And it is a shame really.
Th Rafi song is “Badi door se aaye hain , pyaar ka tohfa laaye hain”.The lyrics of this song ( written by Verma Malik ) are the real star of this song. This has to be a great song promoting peace and friendship among people, and building bridges between them.
Rafi had sung this song live in a concert in London and only its audio recording is available. The original sound track seems to be quite elusive and I failed to locate that for quite some time, before it became available.
Rafi went to a country in 1970s, and sang this song there. The audience, who were hostile to Indians melted on listening this song, and forgot all the bitterness and hostility. That is how magical and powerful this song is.
In the movie version of this song, Mukesh too sings a few lines.

Song- Badi dur se aaye hain (Samjhauta) (1973) Singer- Rafi, Mukesh, Lyrics-Verma Malik, MD- Kalyanji Anandji
Lyrics
badi door se aaye hain,
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
badi door se aaye hain,
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
apnaa lo yaa thukraa do,
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
badi door se aaye hain,
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
jo dilon ke naate hain,
wo jode nahin jaate
jo dilon ke naate hain,
wo jode nahin jaate
jod liye to
phir tode nahin jaate
ye naate
ye naate
ye naate
dil mein basaaye hain
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
badi door se aaye hain,
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
anjaane logon mein
koyi saathi to milegaa
anjaane logon mein
koyi saathi to milegaa
koyi to hogaa
jo hamko samjhegaa
ye sapnaa
ye sapnaa
ye sapnaa
dil mein sajaaye hain
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
badi door se aaye hain,
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
ham yaar hain yaaron ke
nibhaa denge yaari
ham yaar hain yaaron ke
nibhaa denge yaari
yaari hai hamko saari duniyaa se pyaari
apna to dil hai saada
phir bhi hai atal iraadaa
hai jaan se pyaara waadaa
jeete ji ham yaaron ka saath na chhodenge
jeete ji ham yaaron ka saath na chhodenge
sahaare
sahaare
sahaare
yaaron ke paaye hain
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain
badi door se aaye hain,
pyaar kaa tohfaa laaye hain

I love this and the Kishore track, too. Did you have such a hard time finding the song? Musicindiaonline has the soundtrack and these songs were pretty popular on radio in my childhood.
