“Main Sundar Hoon” (1971) was a movie which did not do much at the box office, but its music was something special. Its songs were very popular during those days, epecially among youngsters.
I have already posted two songs from this movie, which were the most popular song of this movie.
Other songs were also very popular, and the readers of this blog certainly think so. So here is this song “do mastaane do deewaane” from this movie.
This is a “fantasy” song, sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar and picturised on Leena Chandawarkar and Vishwajeet. Anand Bakshi wrote the song and the music was composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
Like what was the case with other songs of this movie, I was not aware those days which movie this song belonged too. This shows that the movie “Mai Sundar Hoon” failed to live up to the standards set by its songs.

All the songs of this movie were reasonably catchy and popular. I do remember this one.
My favourite song of the movie at that time though was “mujhko thand lag rahi hai”.

The movie is worth watching only for the songs (and some star cameos courtesy of Mehmood’s drawing power). But the songs are SO fab. This one is great, thanks 🙂
