I post many songs in this blog that I describe as timeless classics. I am sure such songs have some special qualities that ensures this, otherwise we also have songswhich are forgotten almost as soon as they are released.
This song from “Babul” (1950) is as timeless as a song can aspire to be. Lata’s voice is so youthful and fresh. Shakeel Badayuni has written a wonderful song using simple words. It is certainly inspired lyrics writing at its best. And the music of Naushad is understated and remains in the background, and is very effective.
And if one watches the picturisation, the effect is even more stunning. This song is picturised on a young and pretty looking Nargis, and her simple and innocent dance in this song makes this song even more adorable.

There is so much wealth of information available about these songs that we have grown up listening to in the past. and thanks to technology, it has now become easy to share them with likeminded fans. And i am happy that I can post information about all these memorable songs in one place.

Love this song, had never seen the picturisation.
That is why I like your blog. The songs might be available on youtube, but you cannot search for something you don’t remember.
