I have been posting the songs of “Phagun” (1958) these days. Here is the 10th song from this movie.
This song is a female solo, sung by Asha Bhonsle. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist and O P Nayyar composed the music.
In O P Nayyar movies, you could not guess the actor on whom the song was picturised. Songs from the same singer could be picturised on different actors. O P Nayyar belived in one singer fits all philosophy, so he would only use Asha Bhonsle’s voice, whether the song had to be picturised on the heroine or some other actress.Most Asha Bhonsle songs in this movie are picturised on Madhubala, but this song is picturised on Cuckoo and others. It is nice to see Cuckoo (fore runner of Helen and Helen’s mentor) in this song.
And it is a lovely song to listen to, as well.
