Jaao jaao Nand ke laalaa

“Rangoli” (1962) is a movie starring Kishore Kumar and Vyjyanti Mala. I have so far posted a couple of nice songs sung by Kishore Kumar and picturised on himself.
Considering that Vyjyanti Mala is the heroine of this movie, one can expect some nice dance songs in this movie picturised on her. And that is how it is in this movie.
Here is a dance song from this song. This song is not an ordinary song. Lata has sung this semi classical song (based on Raag Baageshwari) superbly and the dance of Vyjyanti Mala is just as breathtaking.
Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and Shankar Jaikishan composed the music.
Here is this gem of a song from “Rangoli” (1962)
Song-Jaao jaao Nand ke lala (Rangoli) (1962) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

These south Indian ladies are my goddess. What beauty, poise and the level of art have they reached? They have been my love since my boyhood. And the mix of beauty with the voice of Lataji with such beautiful music? One feels in heaven to see and hear such artistic performance. Thank you for all.

Yes, VJ here is like a page out of our traditional Hindu culture. The songs is quite good though there are places where the filmi touch just doesn’t work for me.
