Badli teri nazar to nazaare badal gaye

In olden days, tear jerker movies had a good market in India. These movies often had long suffering women shown to make sacrifices for no apparent reason and also singing nice songs in the bargain.
There was a pattern in the naming of these movies too. The title used to be of two words, viz an adjective followed by a noun. Adjective would be either Badi or Chhoti and the noun would be a word denoting a lady, viz. Behan, Bhabhi, Maa, Bahu etc. Thus we had titles like Badi Behan, Chhoti Behan, Badi Bhaabhi, Chhoti Bhaabhi, Badi Maa, Chhoti Maa, Badi Bahu, Chhoti Bahu etc.
Come to think of it, there were occasions when the same titles were repeated more than once.
I have discussed songs from several of the above mentioned titles. One title that has as yet gone unrepresented is the title “Badi Bahu”. To make amends, here is a song from a movie with this title.
This song is sung by Lata. Only the audio of this song is available so I have no idea about the picturisation of this song.
Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Anil Biswas is the music director.
This movie “Badi Bahu” (1951) as well as its songs are rather obscure, but I must say that I liked this song, even if I first listened to it only a few hours ago.
Song-Badli teri nazar to nazaare badal gaye (Badi Bahu) (1951) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Prem Dhawan, MD-Anil Biswas
Lyrics
badli teri nazar to nazaare badal gaye
wo chaandni wo chaand sitaare badal gaye
badli teri nazar to nazaare
lehron se poochh leejiye saahil bhi hai gawaah
lehron se poochh leejiye saahil bhi hai gawaah
saahil bhi hai gawaah
kashti meri duboke wo dhaare badal gaye
kashti meri duboke wo dhaare
wo khwaab wo khayaal wo armaan wo hasraten
wo armaan wo hasraten
badle jo tum to saare ke saare badal gaye
badle jo tum to saare ke saare
main bhi wahi hoon meri wafaayen bhi hain wahi
wafaayen bhi hain wahi
phir kyun teri nazar ke ishaare badal gaye
phir kyun teri nazar ke ishaare badal gaye
wo chaandni wo chaand sitaare badal gaye
badli teri nazar
