Aaja tujhe afsaanaa judaayi ka sunaayen

Throughout the world, there have been tragic love stories that are simply known by the name of the lovers- viz Romeo Juliet, Laila Majnu etc. In Punjab, there have been not one or two, four four such love stories. The most well known of them is “Sohni Mahiwal”. The second most well known must be “Mirza Sahiban”.
Several movies have been made on all these love stories, and not just once. Take “Mirza Sahiban” for example, I am aware of two movies made on this story. The earlier movie was made in 1947 and the next one in 1957.
Here is a song from “Mirza Sahiban” (1947). It is sung by Noorjahaan and it is picturised on her. This was one of the last Hindi movies of Noorjahaan after which partition took place and she went away to the newly formed nation of Pakistan.
Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. This movie had music by Pt Amarnath as well as by his younger brothers Husnlal and Bhagatram. I am not sure which song was composed by which brothers. I request my knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter.

Mirzasahiban(1933),Produced by Sagar,Music by S.P.Rane and the actors were-Bacchhoo,Noorjehan,Kamlabai,Mehboob,Kashinath etc.
Mirzasahiban(1938),Produced byHindmata Cine Co.,Music by Nawab khan and the actors were-Bhaidesa,Khurshid,Bhai chalia,Sohanlal,Sarala etc.
