Beimaan tore nainwaa nindiyaa na aaye

When a small kid has to be put to sleep, the mother sings him/her a soothing lullaby. It is not just that only small kids appreciate lullabies. Grownups are just as receptive to them. So I see no reason why a female should not sing lullabies to her husband/lover in case he too is required to be put to sleep.
Here is one such song from “Taraana” (1951). Here Dilip Kumar is feelng sleepy but is unable to sleep. One cannot blame him as he is with the pretty and stunning looking Madhubala. Madhubala asks him to sleep, but even while feeling sleepy he cannot help but tease Madhubala. Upon this Madhubala lovingly calls him “Beimaan” (dishonest) and then sings this soothing song to enable him to go to sleep.
This song is sung nicely by Lata. D N Madhok’s lyrics are wonderful. I have mentioned it several times in the past that I find D N Madhok as one of the most talented lyricists in Hindi movies.
Anil Biswas is the music director. This is a song that is obviously a masterpiece, but I must admit that I became aware of this song just now. And what a lovely song it is. It is never too late to get familiar with a song like this. And it is interesting to realise that I discovered this song exactly 60 years after this song was created.
So here is this lover’s lori from “Taraana” (1951)

saanchi kahoon mohe yoon laage
jaise man mein bharam ek aaye ek jaaye
