Jaanaa thhaa hamse door

I have discussed as many as four songs from “Adaalat” (1958) and I was surprised to receive the lyrics of this song from Prakashchandra. When I checked up, I found that this well known song from “Adaalat” (1958) was actually missing from the blog.
I set out to look for the video of this song. But despite lots of search, I drew a blank. and then I realised that this song is one of those songs that were deleted from the movie and that is why its video is no longer available. There have been cases when a few songs were deleted from the movie after the intervention of Censors , for example Balmaa khuli hawaa mein (Kashmir Ki Kali) , or because of pressure on themovie makers from influential quarters, e.g. Chain se hamko kabhi(Pran Jaaye par vachan na jaaye)(1973) as well as In haathon se sabki gaadi chal rahi hai (Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi) , but this deletion does not appear to be because of that reason. This song was apparently deleted because the song did not fit into the movie. Just imagine a song of this calibre not fitting into the scheme of things of the maker of this movie. The movie makers were obviously no great music buffs.
Here is this song, which has gone on to become an immortal ghazal by now. This song is sung by Lata. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Madan Mohan. I am not sure whether the song was actually picturised. The song was obviously intended to be picturised on Nargis in the movie.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the affairs of this song from ‘Adaalat” (1958).

What a soul stirring number! Like Sadanand Ji says, whoever decided to exclude the song from the movie must have been pretty foolish.

Not only foolish but he must be GREAT IDIOT of 20th Century. The song was with the theme of story of this classic movie when Pradeep Kumar leaves for abroad for higher studies living his love Nargis in native country. This song was sung by Nargis when The Family of Pradeep Kumar disowns Nargis as the Love of their son and throw her out of the house.

What a shame ! Whoever was responsible for deletion of this song from this movie must be the one who did not appreciate the great efforts of poet, singer and music composure to build in pathos and melancholy in this song. This song fitted very well with the theme of this movie.
