I just now realised that we are coming to an end of all K L Saigal songs that are there to be discussed. Yes, it is true that we in this blog have covered all the available movie and non movie songs in Hindi/Urdu that were sung by K L Saigal.
So have we heard the last of the music of that era ? This gave me a sense of a loss, as I was so used to listening to songs of this era on a daily basis. Then I realised that we have discussed K L Saigal songs, but many of the songs sung by other singers in these movies are yet to be discussed. And then songs sung in other movies not featuring K L Saigal are also there for us to discuss. so there are still lots of songs from 1930s and 1940s that we have not yet covered and covering them will keep us busy for quite some time.
Here is a song from “Dharti Mata” (1938). This song is sung by Uma Shashi. Pt Sudarshan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Pankaj Mullick.
Only the audio of this song is available, but seeing that Uma Shashi was the leading lady of this movie, the song was clearly picturised on her.
