“Majhli Didi” (1967) was a movie based on the backdrop of Bengal. As a result, rivers and boats and majhis played important roles in this movie.
I have discussed a boat song from this movie in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This son likens life to a boat without a boatman. Well, if boats play such an important role in the lives of people that it is natural for people to compare their lives to boat, just like train travellers tendin to compare life with a train,drama astists tending to compare life with a stage or eskimos comparing life with melting ice maybe. 🙂
This song is sung by Hemant Kumar and it is picturised on Master Sachin and Parshuram on a boat. Neeraj is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hemant Kumar.

What a mellifluous voice!!!!!Want to develop voice like Hemantda. Try to smoke 60 cigs per day. Yep that’s the secret of his voice on his own admission.
I saw him at the Mahalaxmi Studios. What a towering personality but most unassuming. Clad in a starch dhoti-kurta with sleeves folded up halfway and black rimmed glasses.
Have you all heard him sing NFS. Total out of this world experience.
