Pativrata Seeta Maayi ko toone diya vanvaas

“Aawaara” (1951) was an R K Films Production. It was produced and directed by Raj Kapoor. The movie had Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Prithviraj Kapoor, Leela Chitnis, Cuckoo, Om Prakash, K N Singh, Leela Misra, Honey O’brein, B M Vyas, Shashi Raj, ertc in it.
This movie had eleven songs in it. As many as ten of these songs have already been discussed with two songs following each other being discussed as one song.
Here is the eleventh and final song from the movie. This song is a background song which is sung by Rafi and chorus. Shailendra is the lyricist and music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
I notice that Lata Mangeshkar also gets credited as a singer of this song in a few sites including sites dedicated to Shankar Jaikishan. I wonder whether the female aalaap that we hear in this song is in the voice of Lata and whether this song can in that case be treated as a Rafi Lata duet. The site myswar.com describes it as a Rafi solo song though.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the singers of this song.
With this song, “Aawaara” (1951) joins the list of movies that have all their songs discussed in the blog.
