“Aankhon Aankhon Mein”(1972) was produced by Shankar Singh, J Om Prakash and Vijay Kumar and directed by Raghunath Jhalani. The movie had Rakesh Roshan, Rakhee, Pran, Raj Mehra, Tarun Bose, Sachdev, Tun Tun, Pran, Dara Singh Randhawa, Achla Sachdev, Pankaj, Indu Shivraj, Krishan Dhawan, V Gopal, Coca Cola, Madhu Apte, Sanjana, Meena T, Lata Arora, Jay Shree T, Madhumati, Moolchand etc in it.
Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth song from the movie. This song is a duet sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar with chorus. Verma Malik is the lyricist and music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
This song is picturised as a community dance song where females as well as males of the village sing and dance, and the hero, even though he is an outsider, gets to be the lead singer and dancer. 🙂 And this song enables the leading duo to express their love for each other publicly.
So Raakhi and Rakesh Roshan lip sync in the voices of Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar respectively while male and female chorus caters to the lip syncing requirements of the rest of the dancers.
The dance performance is watched by a good crowd, with community leaders also in the attendance. I can notice Pran and Raj Mehra among the dignitaries present on the occasion. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the others in the picturisation.
I have not been able to get the lyrics of the song right at some places. I request our readers with keener ears to point out the missing/ correct words wherever applicable.

Prakash ji,
Raj Mehra is also sitting on the dias, to the right of Brahm Bhardwaj. Appears very briefly in between the stanzas @ 2:48.
