One of the objectives of this series is to launch the missing films from this decade 1971-1980 on the blog; rather it is the foremost objective. So those, then one by one all the films for all the calendar years (of this decade) are covered in the blog.
And, still, there are many films from the very first year i.e. 1971 of this decade that are yet to make a debut on this blog. I have not watched many of these films too and also in many cases have never heard their songs before. But, HFGK has made it possible for me that I came to know about such films and can search for their songs.
So far, I consider that the majority of popular and hit films or films which have good music have already been covered on the blog. And the films which are yet to make a debut must be obscure and/or forgotten films of their time and those which have failed to make a mark among the audience and in turn their music also not gone well with the music lovers.
But then coming to the primary topic for this post today. Born in 1941 this day (7th October), music director Usha Khanna turns 74 today. This post is to wish her many happy and healthy returns of this day. As I tried to search for a song, within the scope of this series, and to also celebrate her birthday, I came across this film from 1971 -‘Behke Kadam’. And this wonderful song which she has composed and sung herself.
‘Behake Kadam’ is an obscure and forgotten film from 1971. It is a Kalashree, Bombay presentation. It had Dharmesh Dutt, Aparajita, Madan Puri, Aaga, Jagirdar, Sundar, Sulochana, Mridula, Kanu Roy, Alka P, Sudha Kothari, Yunus Bihari, Chaman Choti, Dhananjay, Satish, Major Sudan, Bijendra, Kailash Dhiman, Sadiq, Anita Sinha, Ramesh Verma, Sharad, Jagmal, Karan Singh, Suresh Sinha, Kajal, Lal ji, S.Sinha, Shankar Mamtora, , Vishnu, Narendra, Prakash, Suraj, Ramkishore, Sitaram, Yasin, L.M.Prabhu, Anand Sharma, and Suparna in a Special Role.
Music of this film is composed by Usha Khanna. (Assisted by Ashok Khanna). Dharmesh Dutt has penned the lyrics for this film (total four songs). He is also the director of this film. So overall he was the lyricist, actor and director of this film. I would request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.
Now, out of the four songs this movie had, there are two songs (in audio) available on YT and the today’s song was available with a video of other song (from Sharmilee), and I had already selected this song for the post and so with the help of my friend Ashish Tilak we have uploaded this audio on YT (unfortunately the image somehow could not get updated with). But in the process I get to learn something… and after doing all this exercise finally find a already available official audio too. 🙂
