“Laal Haweli”(1944) was directed by K B Lal for Bombay Cinetone, Bombay. The movie had Surendra, Noorjahaan, Ulhas, Baby Meena (later known as Meena Kumari), Maya Bannerji, Yaakoob, Kanhaiyalal, Brijrani, Vatsala Kumthekar, Badri Prasad, Ghori, Alaknanda etc in it.
The movie had eleven songs in it according to HDFK. As many as eight songs from the movie have been discussed in the past.
Here is the ninth song from “Laal Haweli”(1944) to appear in the blog. This melancholic song is sung by Surendra nad it is picturised on himself. Shams Lucknowi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Meer Sahab.
I have not been able to get one word (may be more) right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the words/ suggest corrections in the lyrics wherever applicable.
