“Saahil”(1959) was produced and directed by Agrawal K Bhushan for Filmnagar Studios, Bombay. The movie, a B garade movie, was started in early 1950s and it could finally saw the light of the day only in 1959, only to sink at the box office. This movie had Shammi Kapoor, Chitra, Murad, Sapru, Amar, Jankidas, Rajan Kapoor, Kuldeep Kaur etc in it.
This B grade movie had ten songs in it and it appears that records of some songs were cancelled as well.
Here is the first song from “Saahil”(1959) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Taabaan Jhansvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Suresh Talwar who had composed music for eight out of ten songs in the movie. D C Dutt had composed the music for two remaining songs.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
