We have been discussing movies where one song was posted long ago and it took ages before the second song was posted on the blog. The ‘ten-year challenge’ gives us opportunities for posting songs of such movies which have been on the blog and running well 😊, and also movies which took almost twelve years to get all their songs covered on the blog after their debut. (Latest case being the movie ‘Warrant-1975’ which was ‘Yippeeee’ed’ recently. The first song of ‘Warrant-1975’ was posted on the blog in September’2008).
Then there are movies whose songs get posted on ‘regular intervals’ like ‘Olympic’ games or ‘world cup cricket’ 😊
Today we are presenting a song from a movie where the earlier songs appeared on the blog at ‘regular interval’ of ‘four years’. This movie is ‘The Burning Train-1980’.
It debuted on the blog with the famous ‘qawwali’ Pal do pal ka saath hamaaraa which was posted on 08.12.2008.
Then the second this movie was posted on 17.10.2012 – Teri hai zameen tera aasmaan .
Third song got posted on 08.12.2016 which wasWaada, haan jee waada, jab tak amber par taare….
Incidentally the last post of 08.12.2016 was also presented by me. The song talks about ‘waadaa’, but we could not keep our ‘promise’ to post a song after four years i.e.in ‘2020’, even though two songs were lying ready with us. Today’s song , quite appropriately says ‘kisi ke waade pe kyun aitbaar hamne kiya’. 😊. Nevertheless, if not in ‘December-2020’ we are doing it now in ‘February-2021’…

Aa aa aa aa
Aa aa aa aa

aa aa aa aa
Kisi ke waade pe kyun
Kisi ke waade pe kyun
Aitbaar hamne kiya aa aa
Kisi ke waade pe kyun
Aitbaar hamne kiya aa aa
Naa aane waalon ka kyun
Naa aane waalon ka kyun
Intezaar hamne kiya aa
Kisi ke waade pe kyun
Aitbaar hamne kiya
Naa wo hamaare huye ae
Aur na hum rahe apne
Aa aa aa
Naa wo hamaare huye ae
Aur na hum rahe apne
Muhabbaton ka ajab

Kaarobaar hamne kiya aa
Kisi ke waade pe kyun
Aitbaar hamne kiya
Wo khel khel rahe thhe
Wo khel khel chuke
Ho o o
Wo khel khel rahe thhe
Wo khel khel chuke
Khataa hamaari thhi kyun
Khataa hamaari thhi kyun
Unse pyaar hamne kiya aa
Kisi ke waade pe kyun
Aitbaar hamne kiya
Bichhad ke unse naa jab
Dil kisi tarah aa aa badla
Ho o o
Bichhad ke unse naa jab
Dil kisi tarah badla
Sharaab-khaane ka rukhh a
Sharaab-khaane ka rukhh
Ikhtiyaar hamne kiya aa
Naa aane waalon ka kyun
Naa aane waalon ka kyun
Intezaar hamne kiya aa aa

Intezaar hamne kiya aa aa
Kisi ke waade pe kyun

Sharaab-khaane ka rukhh ‘Ikhtiyaar’ hamne kiya
This is a very interesting sha’ir for the use of the word ‘ikhtiyaar’ in the second line.
1. I adopted the route or made a beeline for ‘sharaab-khana’.
2. I have made intoxication, my identity or face.
The term ‘rukh ikhtiyar karna’ simply means ‘to go towards’, to take the route’ or ‘ go in the direction of ‘. “ikhtiyaar’ here means to ‘take on’ as well as ‘covering’ or wearing, as in ‘disguise’.
‘Ikhtiyaar’ – control, jurisdiction.
Most common usage is in sentences like ‘wo mere ikhtiyaar mein nahin’ meaning ‘it is not in my control’ or “I have no control over it’.
