Today’s song is from the movie ‘Sant Raghu-1957’. This movie made its debut on the blog on 08.08.2017 where its song ‘dagmag doley jeewan ki naiyyaa’ was posted on the blog. The second song from this movie was posted on the blog on 07.02.2018 which was ‘neel gagan mein chanda chamke’. The third song, O aasmaan waale apnee dhartee ke dukhde zara dekh le was posted yesterday after a nearly 7 years gap. Today I am presenting the fourth song from this movie.
“Sant Raghu-1957” was directed by Chandrakant for ‘Kanak Productions, Bombay’. It was produced by M.K. Kapadia. The cast of ‘Sant Raghu’ included Nirupa Roy, Anant Kumar, Ulhas, Bipin Gupta, Lalita Pawar, S.N. Tripathi, Manorama, Babu Raje, Tuntun, Mouju, Radheshyam, Bhagwan Sinha, R.S. Dubey, Champak Lala, Sheela Vaz, Rajkumar, Amrit and others.
‘Sant Raghu’ (passed by Censor Board on 03.07.1957) has eight songs, all written by Bharat Vyas. Music for this movie was composed by Avinash Vyas. Six singers viz. Lata Mangeshkar, Geeta Dutt, Mohd Rafi, Sulochana Vyas, Manna Dey and Asha Bhonsle sang the songs in this movie.
Today’s song is sung by Manna Dey. It is a ‘remonstrating with the almighty’ category of song. Incidentally, the previous song covered yesterday too was ‘remonstrating with the almighty’ song.
