The song in this post is a lesser heard, or rather never heard rare song from the movie ‘Ziarat Gaah e Hind-1970’ alias ‘Zeenat’.
This movie was directed by A. Shamsheer for ‘Roopesh Films, Bombay’. It had Tabbassum, Tabrez, Johny Whisky, Baby Guddi, Sadik, Shukla, Murad, Shakeela Bano Bhopali, Sharin, Husn Bano, Pratap Kumar, Satish, Munshi Munakka, Musa Kaleem, Dinesh Dubey, Sashi, Bihari, Meera, Master Jafar, Master Vijay, Master Bashir, Rupendra, Dalda and others. This movie had made its debut on the blog on 18.03.2019 when the first song from this movie was presented by our Shree Sudhir jee.
‘Ziarat Gaah e Hind-1970’ had four songs written by Abdur Rab Chaush and they were composed by Mustafa Yusuf. The singers’ names for this movie are Mubarak Begam, Asha Bhonsle, Mohd Rafi and Sulakshana Pandit. The abovementioned first song from this movie, covered on the blog in 2019 was sung by Rafi saab.
Today I am presenting the second song from this movie which is in the voice of Sulakshana Pandit.
Sulakshana Pandit begin her career as a singer for Hindi Films in the mid-sixties. This song from a 1970 film is one of her earlier songs for Hindi movies.
This song is a devotional song (mentioned as ‘islamic munaajaat’ by sources, which means singing hymns to god or praying to for his divine interventions’).
