This musical bandwagon i.e. our blog ‘atulsongaday…’ recently clocked the 19500th post and this was also a special post for another reason i.e. it marked the 3400th Rafi song on this blog.
That leads us to think about the Rafi songs that are yet to be presented here. We have a long way to go for that. The total number of Rafi songs for films are 4846 (as mentioned in the statistics page of the blog). So we have another 1446 Rafi songsleft to be covered in the blog provided they are all available for us to savour.
One may wonder which are these 1446 songs that are not yet covered in the blog ? Have we listened to them in the past ? Which are the movies these songs belong to ? And are they all available for our listening pleasure ?
Fortunately we have still have a big treasure trove that is yet to be discovered even if some of them may no longer be available. Thanks to Geet Kosh, we know which songs to search for in our mission to cover the remaining Rafi songs. (subject to their availability online).
During my daily browsing for songs and listening to a song a day 🙂 , I came across this movie ‘Phir Bahaar Aayee’, which is an un-released movie from the decade of sixties. Some information about this movie is available in Geet Kosh. Seven songs are listed for this movie. The director’s name for this movie which a ‘Fazli Films’ production. The cast of this movie is not known either. However luckily we have the name for the composer and that is Kamal Rajasthani. Out of the seven songs, lyricist’s name for individual two songs is mentioned as Naqsh Lyallpuri and Dr Momin Mohiuddin. Lyricists for the remaining five songs are not known.
The singers for this movie are Mohd Rafi, Krishna Kalle, Suman Kalyanpur, and Usha Balsawar.
Today I am presenting a rare song from this movie This is a rocking romantic song sung by Mohd Rafi which would take listeners back to the music of the sixties and might remind them of songs like ‘mast bahaaron ka main aashiq’ etc etc . Only audio of this song is available.
Let us now listen to this rare song and take a fresh guard while continuing our exploration for the as yet unrepresented Rafi songs.
