Today’s song is from the 1960 movie ‘Laalach’. It was directed by R.D. Rajput for Sagar Film Company, Bombay. B.C. Sharma-&-L.N. Desai were the producers of this movie. The cast of this movie had Kamran, Indira, Sheela Kashmiri, Majnoo, Arvind Kumar, Wazeer Muhammad Khan, Jilani, Harish, Heera Sawant, Shakila Bano Bhopali, Dubey, Badshah Chorbazari, S. Badshah, Haroon, Gulab, Qadeer, Dalip, Ibrahim, Robert, Anil Kumar, Govind Dada, Ashiq, Begam and others.
‘Laalach-1960’ a social movie had five songs as per details mentioned in Geet Kosh Vol-III (1951-1960). It was passed by the Censor Board on 23.07.1960. Three lyricists Sartaj Rahmani(one song), Khawar Zaman(one song) and Aslam (one song) were the lyrics writers for the three known songs from this movie. The lyricists are not known for the remaining three songs. Moreover these two songs seems to be untraceable or unavailable as of now. Asha Bhonsle, Suhasini Kolhapure, S. Balbir and Geeta Dutt are the singers for the three songs where the lyricist names are known. One song from this movie have been posted on the blog in the past.
Today’s song is the second song from this movie which I came across when I was looking for the other songs from the movie, as I noted that only one song from this movie had been posted so far. Geeta Dutt is the singer and lyricist is Khawar Zaman. Music is composed by S. Kishan.
Thiss song is a light hearted parody song sung in qawwaalee style. I do not remember to have heard this song before.
