Today’s song is a nice composition from the movie ‘Daku Mangal Singh-1966’. Lyrics for this song were sent by Prakashchandra long back. Listeni8ng to songs like this (that I had not heard before), I am beginning to realise that apart from the songs that we grw up listening to (that we fondly remember), there many be thousands of songs that we could never listen to. Seing that most of these songs belonged to obscure movies, it is unlikely that music lovers will ever listen to these forgotten songs.
Coming to movie whose song is under discssion here, I had neither watched this movie nor listened to any of its songs.
This movie was introduced on the blog long back on 21.07.2017 with its song ‘ek to ye bahaar uspe teraa meraa pyaar’. I listened to this song ‘ek to ye bahaar uspe teraa meraa pyaar’ today and found it somewhat familiar song that I may have heard on radio.
“Daku Mangal Singh-1966”, a stunt movie was directed by Chand for ‘Pinky Films, Bombay’. The cast of this movie had Prithviraj Kapoor, Dara Singh, Mumtaz, Bhagwan, Sapru, Niranjan Sharma, Uma Dutt, Ratnamala, Rajrani, Padma Chavan, Rajan Kapoor, Master Ripple, Saudagar Singh, Azad, Trilok, Jaggi, Kedar, Bakshi, Bihari, Shakuntala, Gopal, Taran Taaran, Bela Bose, Sunder and others. The music for this movie was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Anand Bakshi wrote all the five songs of this movie. The playback singers for this movie are Asha Bhonsle, Shamshad Begam, Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and Usha Khanna.
Today we are going to listen to the second song from this movie which is a song dance performance by actress Bela Bose. Prithviraj Kapoor and others are also visible in the picturisation.
