“Aasmaan Mahal”(1965) was directed by Khawaja Ahmed Abbas for Naya Sansaar, Bombay. The movie had Prithviraj, Surekha, Nana Palsikar, Rashid Khan, Madhukar, Yunus Parvez, Mridula, Dilip Raj, Ravikant, Virendra Raj Anand, Chandar B. Kaushal, Anwar Hussain, Naseem Bano, Ishrat Sultana, Anugeeta, David, Ram Singh, Murty, M.A.Parkar, Irshad Panjatan, Babbanlal, Agrawal, Rani, Shibdhatullah etc in it.
“Aasmaan Mahal”(1965) had six songs in it. Three songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the fourth song from the movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Vijaya Majumdar. Lyricist is Ali Saardar Jafri, but he has used a few lines of Ghalib, so the lyrics is jointly credited to both. Music is composed by J P Kaushik. The picturisation shows Dilip Raj playing a drunkard and lip syncing in Mahendra Kapoor. Surekha is seen performing a mujra dance while lip syncing in Vijaya Majumdar’s voice. Audio of the song is longer than video. Both versions of the songs have some lines missing that is there in the other version. So the lyrics that I have given full lyrics combining the two links.
