Readers farmaishes
Seeing that I receive farmaishes (requests) from my readers , It would be a good idea to have a separate page for that. So here is this page. Please use it to give your farmaishes for songs that you may like me to include in the blog. Just make sure to check that the song asked by you is not yet posted. You may refer to the pages that shows the complete lists of posted songs (by movie/ by music director/by year- as the case may be) for reference.
Thanks !

Another forgotten movie “Naya Sansar”. And, yes composer was again “Chitragupta”.
Two excellent Solo from Lata: “Ek ek pal mein badle zamaana” & “Chanda loriyaan sunaaye”
And, one from Hemant Da: “Din raat badalte hain”

There was movie “Ganga Maiya Tohe Piyari Chadhaibo ” (Year: 1962, Composer: Chitragupta, Lyrics: Shailendra).
Movie was blockbuster (rare for Chitragupta) in Bihar/Eastern UP. It had a bhojpuri background (using B grade hindi actors & A++ grade singers), and one can easily understand songs as Shailendra mixed it with Hindustani. Chitragupta & Shailendra combination were just too good, and bhojpuri audience were flooding theaters like “Ganga river during Mansoon”. I heard this even broke record of all previous Hindi movies in that territory.
Kahe basuriya bajaole ki (IMHO best from that movie)
e ganga maiyya tohe piyari
sonwa ke pinjra Mein
hum to khelat rahi
Luk Chhip Kajra Mein
hasi hasi panva bidesiya
Also, “Laagi naahi choote raama” (by Lata/Talat) from movie “Lagi Nahin Chhoote Ram” (year: 1963, MD: Chitragupta, Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri)

Our mother has driven both me and my sister quite bonkers over this snatch of lyric “Main hoon ek hariyala banna, (something something) ganna”. As far as she remembers it, it’s mouthed by Arun Govil onscreen.
Pls help with the name of the movie and the song, as she’s now threatening to call up the FM channels on radio!

rafi, asha bhosle`s duet from 1962″GIRSL HOSTEL”(music by ravi)(starcast of the film:ajit, nalini jaywant,jhonnywalker)
the lyrics I don`t know exactly but it goes somewhat like this:
“ye haseen raat…..baadlon ke peeche hai ek chota sa jahan, chalo hum seekhaye, zindagi hai kya..aise mein huzoor mujhe le chale kahan”(it`s a dreamy duet having lyrics about chaand and all likely things- the VIVIDH BHARATHI always broadcast in its “CHHAYAGEET” programme, atul please provide me the lyrics,it is a great duet which did not got proper recognition and did not got its due.(lyricist most probabaly by “Asad bhopali”
doing great job, keep it up,

Thanks Atul. I had searched with “jaan ke” thinking that is not something that could be spelled another way.
Must have missed it somehow though! Until I had not seen it, had thought it was more sad than lively song. Now I know better.
