Tu kitni acchi hai

on:There are a few lovely songs eulogising Maa (mother) in Bollywood movies. The most memorable of these songs were composed in 1960s.
“Raja aur Rank”, a musical blockbuster with amazing songs had a wonderful “Maa” song. It was sung by Lata and picturised on a kid. Anand Bakshi was the lyricist whereas Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the music.
This is one songs that is evergreen as well as immortal. One cannot praise the genius of Laxmikant Pyarelal high enough. Coming up with so many remarkable songs in one movie is quite a feat that Laxmikant Pyarelal achieved in this movie.
Song- Tu kitni acchi hai (Raja aur Rank) (1968 ) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal
Lyrics
tu kitni achchhi hai
tu kitni bholi hai
pyaari-pyaari hai
o maan o maan
o maan o maan
tu kitni achchhi hai
tu kitni bholi hai
pyaari-pyaari hai
o maan o maan
o maan o maan
ye jo duniyaa hai
ye ban hai kaanton kaa
tu phulwaari hai
o maan o maan
o maan o maan
dukhan laagin maan teri ankhiyaan
dukhan laagin maan teri ankhiyaan
mere liye jaagi hai tu saari-saari ratiyaan
meri nindiyaa pe apni nindiyaa bhi toone waari hai
o maan o maan
o maan o maan
apnaa nahin tujhe sukh-dukh koyi
apnaa nahin tujhe sukh-dukh koyi
main muskaayaa tu muskaayi main royaa tu royi
mere hansne pe mere rone pe tu balihaari hai
o maan o maan
o maan o maan
maan bachchon ki jaan hoti hai
maan bachchon ki jaan hoti hai
wo hote hain qismat waale jinki maan hoti hai
kitni sundar hai kitni sheetal hai nyaari-nyaari hai
o maan o maan
o maan o maan
tu kitni achi hai
tu kitni bholi hai
pyari pyari hai
o maa o maa
o maa o maa

Dear Atul Again you reminded me of my childhood. I was in 3rd or 4th standard when this film was released. I could not see this film. But my friend Alok saw it. His father came arround 11’O clock to receive him from school for Noon show.
The favorite song from this film was “O Phirkiwali” which I used to sing in almost all the functions of our school. My teachers and fellow students became addict to it. Please put this song also.
Thanks for reminding me my childhood memories and of course the friend Alok.
