Maayoos to hoon waade se tere

I have received a few farmaishes for the songs of “Barsaat ki raat”. Every song in the movie “Barsaat ki raat” is a memorable song, so I am not surprised that readers of this blog want me to post these songs from this movie.
Video links of the better known songs from this movie are readily available, but finding some of the lesser known songs is a problem. But where there is a farmaish, there is a way. This video of this song “mayoos to hoon waade se tere” was not available, but now I have uploaded it to enable me to fulfil the farmaish.
I was under the impression that this movie was all about songs and little story, but now I stand corrected. It has a very well organised and gripping story and the songs integrate almost seamlessly with the story line.
When one known the context of a song, one can appreciate it better. The context of this song is that Bharat Bhooshan is waiting for Madhubala to arrive at the appointed place, but she is unable to make it. Bharat Bhooshan expresses his frustration through this song, though it is clear that Madhubala’s hands were tied (figuratively).
