Chup chup khade ho zaroor koyi baat hai

I use the word “musical blockbuster” quite regularly for movies that have several nice songs. And there have been quite a few such movies over the deacades.
Then there are some musical blockbusters that have not three or four but seven or eight great songs. It is just mindboggling.
I find that the music of “Badi Bahan” (1949) is among those mindboggling movies boasting of 7-8 great songs. So far I have posted just one song from this movie (viz. “Bigdi banane waale bigdi banaade”).
Here is one more song from thismovie. It is ” chup chup khade ho zaroor koyui baat hai.”
Need I say anything more about the popularity of this song ? It is a timeless classic, undoubtedly. It is sung by Lata and Premlata. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist while Husnlal Bhagatram composed the music.

The hero is Rehman (one of his early movies). You can still see that look and smile on his face that we remember from later movies.
The heroine is the beautiful Suraiya.

This song and Lara lappa were my early favourites along with Teri pyari pyari surat ko. And I still love these uplifting songs. Not forgetting Yaaahoooo and Suku suku, among many, many others. Some songs just simply make one cheerful again. Shukriya many times over for your info and songs.

Suriya was one of the foremost heroines of the day but its a pity that she was never able to marry though there were few likely ones. Remember having met her in Bombay few years prior to her death. Great bygones in their later life have nothing to talk about but their past fame. Suriya did sing a few songs and show her collection of gold ornaments but the truth is that she died a broken woman.
