C Ramchandra had created some very fine songs in “Parchhain” (1952) and quite a few of these songs went on to become all time classics. I have posted one such Lata classic already (“katte hai dukh me ye din”). Here is a Talat Mahmood classic from this movie this time.
“Mohabbat hi jo na samjhe” is sung by Talat in his characteristic silken voice that makes the audience feel like he is being subjected to a soothing and calming mental massage.
The picturisation of this song leaves something to be desired, as was the case in the Lata song mentioned earlier too, but then this song ( and the Lata song too) is better heard then watched, and that is how the songs of this movies have made their marks over the decades.
On the screen, this song is picturised on the legendary V Shantaram.
