Here is this song from a rather recent vintage. This is one of the few songs from 1990s that I found hummable. Of course, I was not aware which movie this song was from.
I now know that the movie was “Henna” (1991) which Raj Kapoor had directed and a Pakistani actress Zeba had played the title role. Raj Kapoor died before the movie could be completed and this movie was then directed by Randhir Kapoor.
Here is a “qawwali” from this movie. It is a different kind of qawwali. Herethe males and females do not counter each other seated on their parts of the stage. It is awedding that is on the air and everyone is awaiting the arrival of the groom. And this song is about asking the boy to arrive before it is too late.
And the girls, led by Ashwini Bhave in fact dance too. This song then should be called a qawwali cum wedding song.
This song is sung by Suresh Wadkar and Lata. Ravindra Jain is the lyricist as well as the music director.
The song is very popular, and as I can see, the picturisation is lavish as well.

There are 3 more singers in this song. Shemaroo link details is giving the names as Saeed Sabri, Farid Sabri and Satish. No doubt these voices are over shadowed by Lata Mangeshakar’s dominant voice.
Qawwali is inspired by ‘Ankhiyaan udeek diyan”.

Who is the actors(Singing Qawwali on Screen) 2 male n 1 female (in Yellow dress)..plz name that Yellow dress lady…is that Sangeeta Bijlani?? m nt talkin abt Ashwini Bhave

Shashi Kiran and Javed Khan are the male actors lip syncing for the songs and the lady lip syncing for the song is ROMA MANICK(wearing yellow dress)
and
Ashwini Bhave(wearing cream colour dress) you can see at 0.29
