Like many old classics, this particular song is “new” for me. I listened to this song for the first time only yesterday. And after listening to it twice, I was hooked.
This song is from a movie called “Sapne Suhaane” (1961). Shailendra is the lyricist and Salil Chowdhury is the music director. Lata sings this song, and the combination of these three talents has given us this gem of a song.
The song is picturised very nicely on Geeta Bali and Kamini Kadam.
I count myself lucky that I managed to stumble upon this wonderful song.

Corrections should be made as follows:
all the tags in the post and the movie name should be “SAPAN SUHANE” , not as Sapne Suhane,
there is another 1974 movie called SAPNE SUHANE(Shamji Ghanshamji provided the music and we have covered one song from that movie also)

Wonderful song. My favorite from the first day I listened to it and it is a great song for dances in marriage functions.
