“Patanga” (1949) had that iconic song “Mere piya gaye Rangoon wahaan se kiya hai telephoon”. It is perhaps the only song from this movie that is known to most people.
But there were other nice songs in this movie too. Personally, I think that the first song from this song was perhaps one of the best songs of this movie.
Here is this song.This song plays some five minutes after the movie strts. It is sung by Shamshad Begam and it is picturised on Cuckoo ( I hope I have made the correct identification of the dancer).
Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and C Ramchandra is the music director. I find this song an irresistiblly foot tapping song.
