In 1950s, Shankar Jaikishan tended to use Lata’s voice for all female playback songs. It is alright if they had to use her voice for one actress, but there were occasions when more than one actress in the same movie lip synced to Lata’s voice. Fortunately, they did not do so in the same song.
In “Baadal” (1951), we have Lata singing for Madhubala. But here is another Lata song from this movie, which is not picturised on Madhubala. It is picturised on Purnima.
This is a dance song written by Shailendra. It shows Purnima dancing alongwith other dancers. There other dancers consist of a group of female dancers and another group of male dancers.
I could not catch the words sung by the chorus for the male singers . Otherwise the song as sung by Lata and female chorus as I noted down is complete.
