Bahaaye chaand ne aansoo zamaana chaandni samjhaa

I do not have much information about “Lagan” (1955). It had Nalini Jaiwant, Sajjan, Shammi Kapoor and Naaz in it, among others.
I just listened to a song from this movie. What a nice song ! It is sung by Hemant Kumar. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and Hemant Kumar himself is the music director.
As can be guessed, it is a Chaayaageet song, with reference to “raat’, “chaand”, “chaandni” etc. The lyrics of Rajinder Krishan are quite original and innovative. And Hemant Kumar’s voice was tailormade for such songs. The result is a remarkable song. I can only wonder how I missed out on listening to this gem all these decades
Song-Bahaaye chaand ne aansoo zamaanaa chaandni samjhaa (Lagan) (1955) Singer-Hemant Kumar, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-Hemant Kumar
Lyrics
bahaaye chaand ne aansoo,
zamaanaa chaandni samjhaa
bahaaye chaand ne aansoo,
zamaanaa chaandni samjhaa
kisi ke dil se hook uthi
to koyi raagini samjhaa
kisi ke dil se hook uthi
to koyi raagini samjhaa
bahaaye chaad ne aansoo
chhupaayaa kis tarah gham ko
zamaane ki nigaahon se
chhupaayaa kis tarah gham ko
zamaane ki nigaahon se
zamaane ki nigaahon se
meraa gham dekhne waalaa
mere gham ko khushi samjhaa
bahaaye chaand ne aansoo,
zamaanaa chaandni samjhaa
bahaaye chaand ne aansoo
chaman ko chhodkar maine
guzaari zindagi aise
chaman ko chhodkar maine
guzaari zindagi aise
guzaari zindagi aise
ke jo kaantaa nazar aayaa
usi ko main kali samjhaa
bahaaye chaand ne aansoo
zamaanaa chaandni samjhaa
kisi ke dil se hook uthi,
to koyi raagini samjhaa
bahaaye chaand ne aansoo

Nice song.
Couple of comments.
I have heard this song dozens of times but words in the second line (kisi ke dil se hook uthi) are not clear. Can some one explain “hook uthi” or better yet can someone listen to the song and also confirm that these words are right? All other sources on the Internet give the same lyrics (may be huk instead of hook).
Second comment: This film has other good songs especially मुझे नजरसे उतार करभी by Lata Mangeshkar. May be in future these songs can be added to this collection.

“Hook uthhi” is correct. It means “Aawaaz Aayi”.
