“Baawre Nain” (1950) was the second movie as a music director for Roshan. Learning from his mistakes as a music director in his first movie, Roshan made amends, and came up with such an amazing musical score in this movie that the brand name of Roshan was launched with this movie. Till today, his descendents have been using the name Roshan ( which was the first name of Roshalal Nagrath) as a surname and as a brand name. And this brand name first got recognition in 1950 with this movie.
I have posted a couple of songs from this movie already. Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung with gusto by Rajkumari and it is picturised on Geeta Bali and Raj Kapoor.
Kidar Sharma, the mentor of Raj Kapoor in his younger days, is the lyricist.
This song was quite a raze when it was released. Though I began to listen to this song only from late 1960s, this song could still enthrall its listeners. And now, about 90 yeras after this song was recorded, this song continues to entrall.

wonderful song and live too. can one explain the meaning of ‘ib’ or may be ‘ab.’

“Ib” is same as “ab”, viz now. Ib kya hoga = what will happen now.

‘ib’ in harayanvi and rajasthani means ‘now’ as well ‘what’. Kidar Sharma was a punjabi but polyglot, in this iconic song of his ib means what cosidering the context of the song.

Lovely song.
Nice one from Roshan. His early composition like in this movie and “Malhaar” are so different then from 60’s.
