I have posted a song from “Kaali Ghataa” (1951) in the past. Here is another song from this movie.
This song is sung with enthusiasm by Lata. And I am not familiar with the actors on whom this song is picturised.The credit of the movie states that Ulhas,Asha Mathur, Bina Rai, Kishore Sahu were the lead actors of this movie. So two out of these four (one male one female) figure in this song.
PS-Now Sudhir has provided the required information about this song. Here are the details as mentioned by him:
“Kaali Ghataa is a splendid but a tragic tale of love gained and love lost.
On screen, this song is sung by Sonia, a French girl, role played by Bina Rai. Sonia is traveling in India with her father, and she meets with Ram Narayan (Kishore Sahu). The two fall in love; and Sonia sings this song of love, in a mixture of French and Hindi.
Shailendra is the lyricist whereas Shankar Jaikishan composed the music. Some of the lines in the song soung gibberish to me, and I am not sure I got them correctly in the lyrics, despite listeneing to the song several times. I hope readers of this blog with keener ears will point out the mistakes in the errors ,so that I may be able to correct them.
PS-Sudhir informs me that the words sounding gibberish is actually French. He has very kindly provided the corrected lyrics along with the translations of the French sentences too). So now the corrected lyrics can help you enjoy the song even more knowledgeably.

So some lines of this song sound different, because they indeed belong to a different language. 🙂
The song is a mix of Hindi and French; and may be it could be a unique song in that sense. Browsing through the blog, I came upon this post. A wonderful song and one of my favorites.

The lyrics need some correction, in the context of the French words. Given below are the complete lyrics with English meanings of French lines in brackets. As one reads and tries to speak these words, please do remember that in French, the last syllable in most words is silent. So for example, in the word “journee”, the syllable ‘n’ is silent, in the word “c’est”, the syllable ‘t’ is silent.

Sudhir Ji,
Thanks a ton. I must have heard this song many a times but never paid attention to its lyrics thinking its a gibberish like “Ina Mina Dika”.
Later I had realised that ASAD has the answers for all such rare and unique songs.
Atul ji and Sudhir Ji, this blog is like a Bhagwat Geeta or Bible to me.
