“Passport” (1961) is one of those obscure movies that have been forgotten alongwith their music with passage of time. This movie had Pradeep Kumar and Madhubala in lead roles and it had some lovely music in it.
Here is a song that many Bollywood movie lovers will like. It is a Bar song. People are assembled in a bar and a bar dancer sings and dances. And who was the most well known dancer for such songs ? Helen, of course !
Yes, it is a song picturised on Helen. The picturisation also shows Nazeer Hussain and K N Singh, among others.
The song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Lyrics is by Qamar Jalalabadi. If one listens to the music and he has to guess the music director, he/she may well guess Laxmikant Pyarelal and the guess will technically not be wrong . Laxmikant Pyarelal could well have composed this music, but those days they were assistants of Kalyanji Anandji, so officially it is Kalyanji Anandji who are the music directors.
