When Kishore Kumar is in the frame, you expect him to take the centre stage and dominate the singing. Here is this song where Kishore Kumar for a change is at the receiving end of a song.
This song is “main bhi jawaan dil bhi jawaan kaisi suhaani raat hai” from “Baap Re Baap” (1955). I was not aware of this song till recently and I suspect that there are not too many people who may have heard this song/ watched the picturisation of this song. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Chand Usmani and Kishore Kumar.
This lively song is written by Jaan Nissar Akhtar and music is composed by O P Nayyar. Listening to the music, I cannot help but feel that the music of this song is inspired from C Ramchandra’s music from early movies viz “Albela” (1952), “Shehnaayi” (1947). Not that I am complaining.

The girl singing the song is Smriti Biswas and not Chand Usmani
