Yesterday I posted a song from “Mashukaa” (1953) and it was pointed out to me that this movie had Suraiyya as female lead and there must be songs sung by her in this movie too, that need to be posted.
So here is a song from this movie that is sung by Suraiyya. This song is “new” for me, and that is to be expected, because the songs of this movie, as well as the song itself, had failed to make it big when the movie and its songs were released. Now, with the passage of nearly six decades, this song must have become a rare collector’s item. And this song is not all that easily available, I am told.
This song is sung by Suraiyya and it was obviusly picturised on her as well. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist and Roshan is the music director.
If one listens to this song for the first time, the song may not appeal. One needs to listen to this song a few times, before this song starts to grow on you. This song did not get an opportunity to grow on its intended target audience. Perhaps now, three/ four generations later, this song may have the opportunity to grow on atleast some discerning listeners.

I liked this song at the first instance.
As per giitaayan, this song is written by Qamar Jalalabadi. I don’t have GK to double check this.
