Nigaahein milaane ko jee chaahtaa hai

Posted on: September 18, 2010

The first line of this song is identical to the “Dil Hi To Hai” (1963) song (Nigaahen milaane ko jee chahta hai(Dil hi to hai)), but this song is an entirely different song. This song is from an earlier movie, namely “Paraayi Aag” (1948).

Hardly anything is known about this movie apart from the fact that Madhubala was there in this movie.

Here is this song from “Paraayi Aag” (1948) which has Rafi’s voice in it. There appears to be another voice, but I am not sure about the identity of that voice.

Tanveer Naqvi is the lyricist. Ghulam Mohammed is the music director.

The song is a rare song, and it is a lovely song to listen to.

song-Nigaahen milaane ko jee chaahtaa hai (Paraayi Aag) (1948) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Tanveer Naqvi, MD-Ghulam Mohammad

Lyrics

teri raah mein tere har har qadam par
teri raah mein tere har har qadam par
nigaahein bichhaane ko jee chaahtaa hai
nigaahein bichhaane ko jee chaahtaa hai
tujhe aajmaane ko jee chaahtaa hai
tujhe aajmaane ko jee chaahtaa hai
nigaahein milaane ko jee chaahtaa hai

‘Nigahen milane ko dil chahta hai’ from ‘Dil hi to hai’ is no doubt on lips.
But Atul this song is nothing but exploration. Finding the origin of the song or atleast “Mukhda”.
Seems you are deeply invoved in it.
Keep it up..
Thanks
