Ek wo bhi deewaali thhi ek ye bhi deewaali hai

I regard Ravi as the creator of iconic songs. Whatever the occasion, one can have a few iconic songs from Ravi for the occasion. Ravi indeed has a few iconic Deewali songs under his belt, as can be expected.
For some reason, we have more sad songs for deewaali that happy ones. I think that the festival of Deewaali is often used to contrast the lead actors’s sadness vis a vis the general happiness being felt by the rest of the people.
Here is a sad deewaali song par excellence from “Nazraana” (1961). It is sung by Mukesh and it is picturised on Raj Kapoor. Rajinder Krishan has written the lyrics. I regard Rajinder Krishan as a writer of iconic songs just as I regard Ravi as a composer of iconic songs. and together, they have come with a memorable composition in the form of this song.
