Here it is again. One more century of songs ! Yes, this song is 3200th song of this blog !
Unlike the earlier few centuries, this one took quite a while. It took me 35 days to clock this century, which is twice the usual time that I took for the earlier centuries of songs.
These 35 days were quite interesting, though. It was during this period that this blog clocked one million visits, which is a good achievement for a non-professional, labour of love blog like this.
It was during this period that I met Raja, a fellow enthusiast of Hindi movies and its music, who is no stranger to the readers of this blog. 😀 He was interested to see the methodology that I use to post the songs. I showed him how I go about posting the songs. We discussed a lot on matters related to Hindi movies and their songs and other issues of our mutual interest (cricket, for instance). I will always cherish the memories of meeting Raja and spending nearly three hours with him on 29 october 2010.
Raja is still in India and busy meeting his relatives and acquaintances. Once he is back later this month, I am sure he will give us more details on our meeting in one of his guest posts.
This song, the 3200 th of this blog, is from a movie called “O Tera Kyaa Kehnaa” (1959). This song is quite special to my mind. This song is a surprisingly modern sounding song, despite the fact that this song is over half a century old.
This is the title song of the movie, and more significantly, it is a Helen song. Yes, this song is picturised on Helen.
The song is sung with gusto by Geeta Dutt. The lyrics by Gulshan Baawra are quite unusual and interesting. The music is composed by Kalyanji. yes, this is a movie of the days when Kalyanji used to compose music solo, before he was joined by his younger brother to form the famous Kalyanji Anandji duo of music directors.
Here is this fantastic song from “O Tere Kyaa Kehna” (1959). With this his song, the blog now has 3200 songs in it, which is quite a sizable number, considering that this blog is a little over two years old. I am sure that this blog will reach many more centuries and many more landmarks. As I can see from the long list of farmaishes, this blog still has a long long way to go.

Indeed it is a fantastic song. I wonder how this song continues to elude the attention of the readers, even though it was a century marking song of this blog.

Just watched this video today. What an absolutely fantastic song by Geeta Dutt- sung to a lovely tune, with hilarious lyrics.
