I wonder how I had never heard this song before. For that matter I had not heard about this movie either.

This song is from a movie called “Maalik” (1958).This movie had Talat Mehmood, Suraiyya, Lalita Pawar, Kumar, Jeewan etc. The fact that Talat Mehmood was the lead actor in it and movies with him in the lead flopped big time could be the reason why this movie ended up in such obscurity.

But what music this movie has ! I have just heard this all female song and I am stunned that I had never heard this song before.

This song is sung by Shamshad Begam and Suraiyya alongwith chorus. Only the audio of this song is available.Suraiyya obviously sings for herself in the song. I have no idea about the actress who lip syncs in Shamshad Begam’s voice. I request my knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.

Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Ghulam Mohammad is the music director.

Here is this forgotten gem from a forgotten movie for the listening pleasure of the readers.
