“Rail Ka Dibba” (1953) was one of the very first movies of Shammi Kapoor. Of course, he was nowhere close to realising his potential and discovering his identity in this movie. For that he would have to wait for another four years.
“Rail Ka Dibba” (1953) had the gorgeous Madhubala opposite Shammi Kapoor and always, she lights up the screen in this movie with her presence.
Here is a song from this movie which is sung by Shamshad Begam and it is picturised on Madhubala. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist and music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad.

Atul ji,
Shammi Kapoor started his career as a Hero with Jeevan Jyoti(1953) in which his first Heroine was Chand Usmani.There were 7 movies of SK in 1953.RAIL KA DIBBA was his second movie as a Hero.
Produced and directed by P.N.Arora (same person who kept Helen with him for 22 years and left her suddenly on the road,from where Saleem khan married her and gave her second dignified life),under the banner of All India Movietone,Rail ka dibba was a story of Sunder(SK),Chanda (Madhubala),Mohan(Sajjan) and Nirogi(Om prakash),who live together in an abandoned railway wagon.Sunder loves Chanda and marries her in a temple.
When Sunder gets a job in a Newspaper office and sees better days he takes chanda with him,which is not tolerated by Mohan,as he too loves chanda.He fights with Sunder and sunder,in a fit of rage puts him on Raiway track,from where he had saved Mohan’s life once.
Chanda intervenes,saves Mohan and all ends well again.
Having spent earlier 4 years in Prithvi Theatres as an apprentice,on a starting salary of 150(and ending with 300),Shammi’s acting is very drama style.Madhubala outshines him.
