I just stumbled upon this rare song from an unheard of movie called “Saudaamini” (1950). On checking up, this movie is a National Screen production and it was directed by P C Joshi. The movie had Cuckoo, Leela Chitnis, P. Joshi, Sona Chatterji, Bikram Kapoor, Zubeida etc in it.
From all the above sketchy details, this movie looks like a quintessential B grade movie.
This song, which I came across just now is a nice song to listen to. It is sung by Geeta Dutt. According to YT entry, S N Tripathi is the music director. There was no information about the lyricist there.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and this song, including the lyricist of this song.

I remember a telugu movie “Soudamini” from my boyhood. Didn’t see the move, but heard of it.
I see that S. Varalakshmi, a popular Telugu actress is also in the cast of the Hindi movie, “Soudamini”. I wonder if the hindi is a remake of the telugu (or Tamil) version.

S. Varalakshmi was classically trained in music, and sang her own songs in the telugu movies. I wonder if Geeta Dutt sang for her in the hindi movie.
BTW, the word means the zig zag stroke of lightning.
