There was a Hindi movie called “Commercial Pilot Officer”(1963). This obscure movie was a Deepak Jyoti Production. That is all I know about this movie.
THanks to Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our inhouse encyclopaedia, now we have detailed information about this movie. Here is what Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh says about this movie:-
COMMERCIAL PILOT OFFICER-1963 is an obscure movie in the true sense. Its info is not available on any movie site, including IMDB. What’s more, even the HFGK also does not provide any info like actors, director etc of this film.
Not to worry, I have the details with me.This was a Deepak Jyoti films presentation. It was produced by O.P.Datta and Sohan Kapil. It was directed also by O.P.Datta-who was J.P.Datta’s father and who died last month. The story, s/play and dialogues were also by O P Datta himself.
From 1948 to 1997, O P Datta had either produced, directed or written story of 20 films. In every film of J P Datta, his father would do some work, behind the screen.
The cast of this film was led by Deepak and Jyoti. Deepak acted in some 28 films and Jyoti acted in 15 films. This was probably their first and last film as Hero and Heroine. Deepak was Sohan Kapil’s son and Jyoti was O P Datta’s daughter. The banner of the film was on their name. It was reported that they finally married each other and settled in Mumbai, looking after Kapil’s business.
Madan Kapoor(Deepak) was an International Air Lines Pilot and Kamini(Jyoti) was daughter of Suptdt. of Police, Chaudhari. They meet and fall in love. Deepak is a gentleman and treats ladies with honour. This way, once he helps Kitty, a dancer of International fame, to bring her bag accross the customs barrier, not knowing that it contained smuggled Diamonds. Kitty uses this as an excuse to get many works done thru him. Once when he is with Kitty, her husband John comes there. Seeing Madan’s hand on Kitty’s shoulders, he starts a fight with Madan and in the melee, John is killed. The charge comes on Madan but he runs away undetected. Kitty now blackmails him. One day while smuggling Kitty’s Diamonds, Mr.Chaudhari, SP, arrests him. Kamini is devastated. Kitty disappears. Madan tells all the story to Kamini, who vows to clear him soon.
With help from police and some friends, Kamini traces Kitty and gets a statement from her to finally release Madan with a clean slate. kitty is arrested and her gang is busted.
I have discussed one song from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie. This song is a duet which is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and music is composed by Roshan.
The lyrics of this song were sent to me by nahm. This song marks another century in this blog. This rare song is the 200th lyrics sent by nahm in this blog. This is quite an achievement indeed and we congratulate her on this feat. I am sure that this is just the tip of the iceberg and we will see her notch many more centuries with time.
I also take this opportunity to thank all contributors of this blog for their contributions as well as patience, because I have not been able to discuss all of them by now and often it has taken me considerable period before I was able to discuss them.

Heartiest congrats for achieving a milestone of 200 lyrics.
Numbers are nothing by themselves,but they are a measurement/indicators of your intersest in providing us with a musical feast,which sometimes opens up a marvel,a gem, a favourite,a revealation or even a surprise.
It is people like you whose love and dedication towards music that is very endearing,more so,when somebody is looking after the family at home and still serving the cause.

Thanks for the appreciation and good wishes Sir. Some of the songs which i found while looking for some other songs were a revealetion. Deciphering words in voices and accents is a good exercise, i have found :-).

Quite a romantic songs. Hearing for the first time. We would like to hear more of such rare and ‘hatke’ songs(off the beaten track) and not the popular ones.
Like Mumtaz, Anand Bakshi and Yogesh (Gaur) have graduated from C Grade to A grade films. But unlike Mumtaz, surprisingly both of them shied away from mentioning their connections with C grade films in their interviews. Mumtaz used to flaunt it.

Journey is still long, and many many more milestones yet to go. And with the wonderful company of friends that we have here, I am sure this travel is going to be very musical, very sentimental, very joyful.
