“Hamsaaya”(1968) was Joy Mukherjee’s home production. Joy Mukherjee produced and directed the movie and acted in it too. The movie had Joy Mukherjee, Sharmila Tagore, Mala Sinha, Rehman, Gajanan Jagirdar, D. K. Sapru, Malika, Madan Puri, Jankidas, Jagdish Kamal, Polson etc in it.
Music of this movie was its strong suit. As many as three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is another song from the movie. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. The song is picturised on Mala Sinha and others as a stage song, with Joy Mukherjee and Sharmila Tagore present among the audience.

If at all we remember ‘Humsaya’ today, it’s only because of its songs! Sharmila Tagore and Mala Sinha were wasted in this movie. Poor Joy Mukherjee had bitten off more than he could chew. Bad acting by him. Worse direction by him!
